Business Analyst - Banking IT

Function Description / Professional Tasks
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with strong expertise in card processing and international payment schemes to join our Banking IT Services environment. In this role, you will act as a key interface between business and IT, ensuring that card issuing and transaction processes meet the latest regulatory, scheme, and technical requirements. You will contribute your deep knowledge of payment standards and scheme announcements to deliver reliable, high-quality digital payment solutions.

What you can do:
− Analyze, structure, and specify business requirements for card issuing and transaction processes
− Review, interpret, and assess the impact of Mastercard (and other scheme) announcements on systems and processes
− Translate regulatory, scheme, and business requirements into clear functional specifications
− Model business processes and support the definition of interfaces and data flows
− Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, external partners, developers, and testers
− Ensure quality and consistency of delivered solutions across the full delivery lifecycle
− Support compliance with relevant regulatory and scheme requirements in the card issuing domain
− Contribute actively to agile, cross-functional delivery teams
Personal Skills and Education
What you bring with you:
− Proven experience in card processing, specifically with international schemes (Mastercard, Visa; additional schemes are a plus)
− Hands-on experience as a Business Analyst or Requirements Engineer in payments or card environments
− In-depth knowledge of: Mastercard Announcements; EP2; EMV standards
− Issuing-related regulatory requirements
− Solid understanding of payment standards and protocols (e.g. ISO 8583, clearing & settlement)
− Knowledge of authorization, transaction flows, and fraud management processes
− Experience with scheme compliance and regulatory frameworks (e.g. PCI DSS, PSD2)
− Strong analytical skills and experience with business analysis methodologies (BPMN, UML)
− Ability to work with databases and queries (SQL)
− Technical understanding of interfaces and integrations (e.g. REST APIs)
− Experience with tools such as Jira and Confluence
− Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including coordination with external partners


Education
− University/technical college degree in computer science or comparable.  

Language Skills
− English oral and written
− Optional: German oral (and written)

− Willingness to travel
− Hybrid Model: One day a week @office (mandatory)
