Function Description / Professional Tasks

Description of the main tasks  

− Ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the business’s Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
− Test backups to ensure we can meet the business’ Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
− Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends.
− Configure & Monitor Performance/Storage/Memory alerts on Production Azure Servers to ensure high availability of data.
− When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes.
− Design indexes for existing applications, choosing when to add or remove indexes.
− Work with developers to improve the performance of queries.
− Install and configure new SQL Servers.
− Assist to define and implement new features and technologies.
− Document the company’s database environment.
Personal Skills and Education
Education
 −You have a university degree in computer science or equivalent education and training. 

 Professional experience/expertise
− Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services, including Microsoft SQL Server on Azure VM, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL;
− On-call troubleshooting experience with at least one production SQL Server;
−Finding DMV queries to answer questions about server-level performance;
− Tuning T-SQL queries to improve performance;
− You are familiar with data access technologies and protocols, such as ADO.NET and Entity Framework.

 − You are a committed, initiative personality and convince with a high level of teamwork and communication skills
 − You embrace new challenges with an open mind, fostering adaptability and a collaborative spirit within the team.

 
 Language skills
 − English spoken and written
 − German is an advantage
